The Amazon region needs our help. The region is the lifeblood of thousands of species and supports over 30 million people. About Sky Rainforest Rescue

WWF and Sky Rainforest Rescue

Sky have joined forces with WWF with the aim of saving one billion trees in the Amazon rainforest. With your help they want to protect around 3 million hectares from deforestation - that's roughly the size of Belgium!

Why should we save the rainforest?

We've all heard about climate change, well here is a startling fact from WWF :

"Deforestation creates up to a fifth of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions - that’s as much as all the world’s cars, planes, trains and ships put together. In Acre alone, deforestation between 1996 and 2005 generated around 22 million tonnes of CO2 emissions each year."

Despite this straitly fact deforestation in the Amazon rainforest continues apace. It's hard to believe that every minute an area the size of three football pitches is destroyed, meaning around 20% of the Amazon rainforest has already been lost to deforestation.

For just £3.00 a month you can help WWF and Sky save 1 billion trees and protect our planet!
